Grooming Services fit for your King or Queen 

At Regal Tails we want your dog to be treated like royalty as soon as their paw enters our door. The welfare of your pet is of the up most importance to us.

Vaccinations - Before your dogs first groom you must confirm that your dog is fit, healthy and fully vaccinated. We wont groom your dog unless they are up to date with their vaccinations. If your dog isn't fully vaccinated it is entirely at the owners risk as they are at risk of contracting diseases.

Behaviour - If my pet bites, attempts to bite or shows signs of aggressive behaviour to any person or pet, a muzzle may be used at the discretion of the groomer, treatment may stop and I will pay for all work done to that point and will pay the full cost of all damages & expenses my pet has caused.

Fleas and Ticks - We have a strict no flea policy in our parlor. If your pet is found to have fleas, we can use our flea repellent shampoo when bathing if no other pets are in the salon or due in after your dog has visited.

However, we have the right to reschedule or decline until your pet flea infection is treated, this is due to other customers pets welfare.

**If your pet has live parasites we have a flea charge of £15 for cleaning the salon and equipment. If your dog is found to have a tick during a full groom, we are happy to remove that as a service free of charge. Any ticks found will be fed back to yourself, we strongly suggest you have your pets tested for Lyme disease or other tickborne illnesses, and seek veterinary advice once parasite is removed. 

Hand-stripping- I understand my dogs skin may become irritated/inflamed from being hand stripped and will ensure after care is given. If a bath is required, bathing straight after hand stripping will higher the risk of a reaction. I understand the groomer will carry out the strip carefully and correctly and cannot control how the skin reacts and will not be responsible if irritation occurs.

Ear Plucking -  Ear Plucking can irritate the delicate skin of the ear canals and cause irritation. Plucking the hair from a dogs, ear canal, leaves, multiple openings where bacteria can settle more easily. We will only pluck if requested and signed for by you prior to your pets appointment.

Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, it is an offence to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal: – this includes prolonged ‘de-matting’ which is painful and detrimental to the welfare of the dog. If you bring in your dog with more than 15 minutes of de-matting work, we are required by the Act to clip your dog short humanely or refer you to your vet to do the same.

A matted coat does not allow for air circulation to the skin, causing hot spots, bacterial and fungal infections.

The risk of fleas, ticks and other parasites may be increased as it is more difficult to examine the skin and this can cause further skin infections.

Regal Tails will not de tangle a severely matted dog due to the distress and discomfort this would cause your pet. Your dog will require an extremely short clip. We are happy to show you how to care for your pet’s coat for the future.

By booking with us, you agree that the groomer at Regal Tails will not be held responsible for irritation, abrasion, patchiness or hair loss due to any pre existing skin condition, or as a result of the process of grooming, de matting, thinning, stripping, shaving or any mishap caused by my non disclosure of my pets medical condition or behaviour.

Matting charge, if your dogs coat is matted and requires clipping before bathing, you will be required to pay matting fee of £10
